Our Companies Module, Reloaded
Dear DACIS subscribers,
For nearly a year now we've been engaged in a rolling redesign of the DACIS service. Sitewide Search, DM&A, Profiles, Customers, FedBizOpps, DoD Budget—one by one we've tackled these pillars of our service, adding new functionality to each and bringing together the whole with a clean, consistent look.
Today it's our Companies module's turn, and we couldn't be more pleased with the changes to what is, according to the site metrics software we use, the most popular module of the DACIS service.
The changes begin on the Search page, where you can now use predictive typing to find parent companies and spin out their organizational hierarchies.
Next, on the Detail page, you'll find a greatly improved Organization section and a new sidebar on the right where you will find each company's Company Code and, in certain cases, Commercial And Government Entity (CAGE) Codes. (CAGE Codes represent an important stepping stone for the future of our Companies module.)
Finally, in the Related Links section of the Detail page, you'll find fresh new looks and new capabilities—particularly in the Customers area.
And I trust everyone has noticed the speed improvements in this module?
Altogether, you should find plenty to like in the redesign of Companies. Looking forward, it probably doesn't take a crystal ball to figure out that redesigns of Contracts (our second most popular module), Programs, and Newswires are next on the docket. Look for a redesign of at least one of these modules before the close of 2009, and for us to complete the redesign of the DACIS service during the first quarter of 2010.
From there, the roadmap points into new territory.
Best regards,
