Dear DACIS Subscribers,
It's been a long time since I posted in this space. We're all busy. I don't like to tie up your time unnecessarily.
But neither do I like to give the impression, which might have been gathered from our silence, that nothing has been going on at InfoBase. We've never been busier, and our roadmap has never been more compelling.
Here's what's going on:
  • InfoBase is Growing. Since our founding in 1996 our growth has averaged 15 percent/year. We've fully maintained that pace in recent years, and of course that's building on an ever-larger revenues base. We're self-funded—have been from inception—so growth in revenue translates directly to improvements in the services to which you're subscribing.
  • Our Customers Module Has Come in For a Makeover. More than a new look, it's a new architecture. It's more capable, it's faster, and it provides a terrific foundation for dashboards (they're coming). Within Customers, our RANKINGS capability has come in for a major makeover. It's semi-extraordinary… if you haven't already, take a look. Here's as good an example as any: Air Force Research Laboratory, Space Vehicles Directorate (AFRL/RV). (Or paste this into your browser window: https://www.dacis.com/customers/40490.) After you've clicked on RANKINGS, click on any of the companies—you'll see that we're giving you much more than just a rank-ordered list of companies. We also give you what each company is working on, at which cost centers. Their contracts, their programs, their subcontractors. Even their M&A activity: when looking at the top 25 contractors, you might want to check out BlueHalo, KBR, Raytheon, Parsons, and Rocket Lab USA in particular. This is a spanking-new feature, taken live on Friday.
Customers joins Companies and Cost Centers under our new architecture. Next up is FPDS Pro (more on that below), with work also underway in Contracts and Programs. Since last I posted in this space we've doubled the size of our programming team. Programming is our "fast forward" button to getting it all done.
  • We're Expanding Our Data Center Footprint. This year we've made an unprecedented investment in web hardware. Meaning: servers, servers, servers, all tricked out with the fastest solid-state storage, and with five times more processing cores, dear reader, than we're operating with right now. All this capability will be coming online this summer. And we'll be needing it because…
  • FPDS Pro. We launched FPDS Pro in 2016 to a rapturous reception. The opportunity to integrate the government's biggest database with DACIS was too good to pass up. It inspired our programmers, and they came up with a search engine like nothing we'd ever done or seen. But nothing is ever as good as it can be. FPDS Pro will have its second launch this summer.

Those are the high points. My best goes out to all of you, some of whom have been with us from 1996, and to our many new friends. Drop us a line, if you have questions, comments, or suggestions. Bill Burton, our indefatigable Director of Client Relations, especially appreciates testimonials!

Best regards,

Stuart McCutchan
