Our FY14 DoD Budget Update is Now Available
Dear DoD Budget Subscribers,
Less than two months after the Administration's very tardy publishing of its FY14 DoD Budget request, today we have rolled out our complete FY14 update of the DoD Budget module.
As of today you may search our DoD Budget service for spending contained in the Pentagon's FY14 budget request. There's plenty to search for: on the RDT&E side there are 923 Program Elements, in which the Administration lays out its detailed request for $70.1 billion of spending. And on the Procurement side there are 1016 line items and $100.4 billion of spending.
That's just over $170 billion of discretionary spending. And yes, that's down from the $191 billion spent in FY13. Given the state of budget realities in Washington, an 11% decline is bracing, but probably not a shock. We're not likely to be setting any high-water marks for quite a few years. But $170 billion is still a lot of water. And InfoBase's DoD Budget module is still a tool of unequaled power for navigating it.
So use it well. And if you have any questions about how to make the best use of it, please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Care representative Bill Burton at (410) 253-9031.
Best regards,
