An Indian fable tells of a group of blindfolded men led to an elephant. Each attempts to describe the animal based on the part of the anatomy which he touches first. One grasps the elephant's trunk and says "the elephant is like a snake." Another takes hold of the tail, and says, "The elephant is like a rope." Upon putting his arms around a leg, another believes the elephant to be like a tree trunk. And so on.
Getting actionable intelligence in the defense/aerospace industry hasn't been so very different. You can go to your news sources, or your reference sources. Your forecasters, or your government databases. Numbers here, text there. You know the drill. And Google... ah, Google. There is no lack of places to touch the elephant.
With the Defense/Aerospace Competitive Intelligence Service (DACIS) our goal is to bring you to the elephant, blindfolds off.
Our Products
Residing at www.dacis.com, DACIS consists of seven world-class information modules and more than 100,000 unique Web pages. Making heavy use of relational database technology (don't worry, we've done the programming so you don't have to) we've interwoven these modules with more than half a million links.
We did this because we know how you work. We know that a fact inevitably raises more questions... That today you need information about a company, and tomorrow about a contract, and the next day about all the subcontractors on a major program.
And we know that sometimes the most important thing is the fact that you didn't know you didn't know.
Because you have these needs, we've created these seven modules:
  • Our Companies, Contracts, Programs, and Customers modules are critical to understanding today's competitive landscape. These are proprietary reference sources, abundantly interlinked and continuously updated.
  • Our Newswire module shows what’s happening in the industry in near real time. Its bulletins are linked up with our reference modules, giving you the background, context, and significance other news sources can’t.
  • Our Defense Mergers & Acquisitions (DM&A) contains 15 years of defense/aerospace-related transactions. DM&A is, simply put, the most comprehensive collection of industry M&A data and analysis in existence.
  • Our DoD Budget module gives you line item-level access to the plans and priorities of the industry's largest customer. Funding projections and trends, detailed roadmaps, links to related projects, and more: it's all here, and a lot of it is nowhere else.
Our Name, Our Business
We took the name "InfoBase" because it accurately described our idea: developing information and placing it into a database structure through which it could be easily searched. We appended "Publishers" to our name as a reminder to provide this information in an intuitive, customer-friendly format.
We had the good fortune to open our doors in 1996, when the Internet was just beginning to gain traction. We decided from the outset that as an "online" company we would never let the technology become more important than our customer relationships. And so from the beginning we've been responsive to editorial queries, and have ensured that each account is assigned its own representative, whose responsibilities carry on past the sale. You will find your account representative to be courteous, knowledgeable, and available. And you will find that a hallmark of the DACIS subscription is prompt attention to questions, comments, and suggestions.
More than a decade after opening our doors, a lot has changed. Our service has grown and improved in ways both great and small. This process continues. But the principles we were founded under remain the same. We invite you to learn more about the difference which cutting-edge competitive intelligence, and first-rate customer service, can make in meeting your company's information requirements.
